Postcode: BH7 7AF
OS Grid Reference: SZ117926

Directions

From North and East, approach Bournemouth via M3, M27 and A338. Pass start of 50 mph speed limit and sign indicating you are entering 'BOURNEMOUTH'. Continue straight on over fly-over (ignoring left hand signs to Wimborne, Littledown Centre and others). Take next exit, signposted 'Football Traffic', 'Boscombe' and 'Littledown'. At small roundabout at end of slip road continue straight on, signposted 'Kings Park' and 'Football Traffic'. After 300 metres bear right which will take you to the large Pay & Display car park (see below).

Car Parking

NB AFC Bournemouth ('The Cherries' - League 1 Football) have a home fixture on 14 January, and you are therefore STRONGLY ADVISED to arrive no later than 1.30 pm.

There is a large Pay & Display car park adjacent to the Kings Park Athletic Stadium which will start to fill up with football supporters' vehicles from about 1.30 pm. Charges are 50p, £1, £1.50 and £2 for up to 1, 2, 3 and 4 hours respectively, and then £3.50 for up to 7 hours.

Train

Kings Park Athletic Stadium is about 15 minutes walk from Pokesdown station, which is on the main Waterloo - Bournemouth line. On leaving the station turn left, continue past the traffic lights and take the first left into Clarence Park Road. Continue forward until you enter Kings Park. Take the first footpath on the left, leaving the small car park to your right, and shortly you will have a large cemetery on your left. Continue with the cemetery on your left until you reach the stadium.

General Information

Bournemouth Athletic Club is very pleased once again to be hosting a Hampshire League fixture, after a break of several years.

There are limited shower and toilet facilities in the Kings Park Athletic Stadium - some additional portaloos will be hired in.

A cafe serving light refreshments will be available in the stadium, where Race Headquarters will be situated.

Please note, particularly during the Senior, Veteran and U20 Mens' race at 2.30, that there will be football fans walking across the park for the 'Cherries' match at Dean Court. This has occurred in previous years, without causing any difficulties, the fans always seemingly aware that competitors in a Cross Country race are not going to give way!

Also, please be aware that this race, and the Senior Womens' race at 1.35, will incorporate the Dorset County Championships, which will explain why some of the competitors will be wearing numbers.

Course maps may be downloaded here.

Finally, enjoy your day in Kings Park, and have a successful run!
