Hampshire Sportshall 2009/2010

The Sportshall League began in its current format in 2001. Four separate team competitions are held for girls and boys in the Under 11 and Under 13 age groups. 'Grand Prix' competitions are held for Under 15 girls and Under 15 boys.

The Regional Finals will take place again at The Olympos, Burgess Hill, West Sussex

The Aviva Sportshall Under 11s Fun-in-Athletics Final due to be held on 10 January was unfortunately postponed, due to adverse travelling conditions. The event will now take place on Sunday 28 March and team lead Brian Fisher will contact selected athletes with all of the new details in due course.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight County Championships at Portsmouth on Sunday 14 March are therefore an ideal opportunity for some last minute practice and we hope all 180 athletes that have competed in this year's league programme will support the individual event as well, and also promote it to any of their school friends that might like to give it a try.

Team Manager Michael Coker is currrently making selections for the Under 13 and Under 15's teams that will compete in the South East Regional Final at The Olympos, Burgess Hill on Sunday 14 February. We wish them and the Under 11s good luck in their competitions.

We now have a date for the National Final, if we qualify from the regional events. The National Sports:Hall Championships are at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham on Sunday 18 April 2010.
