Hampshire Sportshall 2008/2009

The Sportshall League began in its current format in 2001. Four separate team competitions are held for girls and boys in the Under 11 and Under 13 age groups. 'Grand Prix' competitions are held for Under 15 girls and Under 15 boys.

It would be helpful if Team Managers could give an early indication of interest (or not) in entering teams next season, and if so please confirm gender and age group(s). The league joining fee for 2008/9 was £10 per team/per age group (U11G/U11B/U13G/U13B/U15G/U15B) and the match fee was £2 for each athlete (payable on day).

The County Sportshall Championships were held on Sunday 15 March 2009 at Portsmouth. Full results appear below.

This year, the Regional Finals were expanded to include teams from Kent, Surrey and Sussex, and they were held at The Olympos, Burgess Hill, West Sussex. The Under 11s took part in the Fun in Athletics Festival on Sunday 11 January, and the Under 13s and Under 15s on Sunday 8 February:

The National Final took place on Sunday 22 March at the NEC in Birmingham. Hampshire's Under 13 Girls and Under 15 Boys had qualified from the regional finals and between them they achieved probably our best results ever as they both finished twice in their respective competitions.
