South of England AA Cross Country Championships

Several Hampshire clubs were represented at the 2008 South of England Cross-Country Championships, which were held on Saturday 28 January at Parliament Hill in London.

Individual honours went to:

• Rachel Townend (Winchester & District) - 1st Senior Woman
• Stephanie Twell (Aldershot, Farnham & District) - 1st Under 20 Woman
• Emelia Gorecka (Aldershot, Farnham & District and Surrey) - 1st Under 15 Girl
• Andy Vernon (Aldershot, Farnham & District) - 2nd Senior Man
• Louise Damen (Winchester & District) - 2nd Senior Woman
• Lily Partridge (Aldershot, Farnham & District and Surrey) - 2nd Under 17 Woman
• Emily Alexander-High (Aldershot, Farnham & District) - 2nd Under 13 Girl
• Phillip Berntsen (Andover) - 3rd Under 20 Man
• Louise Small (Aldershot, Farnham & District) - 3rd Under 17 Woman

Not surprisingly, Aldershot, Farnham & District and Winchester & District featured prominently among the team honours:

• Aldershot, Farnham & District: 1st and 2nd in Under 17 Women; 1st in Under 20 Men, Under 17 Men, Under 15 Boys, Under 15 Girls and Under 13 Girls; 2nd in Senior and Under 20 Women
• Winchester & District - 1st in Senior and Under 20 Women; 3rd in Under 15 Girls
